In the last Åter Niklas Karlsson showed how to roughly shape a trough from fresh birch. The trough has now been in a box of shavings and dried for two months. The trough was made thicker than it will ultimately be, as material is lost during the clearing, which is now the time for.

The hoe axe is one of my favorite tools that can be used to cut out large, wide troughs and smaller troughs. The rounded edge shape is also preferable for craft tools.
